Curated Treasury: "black and gold"

Today's treasury is curated by Susan, from the Etsy shop CalloohCallay from St. Louis, MO.

CalloohCallay features unique gifts including vintage home decor and housewares, vintage button jewelry, vintage accessories and luggage, vintage books and postcards, vintage jewelry, industrial and rustic items, and much more

Susan is the owner, designer, photographer, "Hunter And Gatherer", researcher, and fashionista behind CalloohCallay.

"The name Callooh Callay was happily borrowed from Lewis Carroll's Jabberwocky, a poem in Through the Looking Glass. 'And hast thou slain the Jabberwock? Come to my arms, my beamish boy! O frabjous day! Callooh! Callay! He chortled in his joy.'

Callooh Callay is all about the joy of discovery--that moment when you round the corner at the flea market and find the perfect Art Deco statue, or cobalt blue hat, or vintage bellows camera. I bring an eclectic mix, culled from my personal collection and from sales around the Midwestern United States."

Susan has been selling on Etsy through CalloohCallay for more than seven years. In that time, she has sent an Olive Oyl marionette to a toy museum in South Korea; cocktail hats for weddings in New Zealand; rustic wood carvings to downtown Manhattan; teacups to Kuwait; and one-of-a-kind vintage button jewelry all over the world.

"I still smile thinking of my red, white, and blue pillbox hat on the streets of Bangkok."

CalloohCallay offers a changing selection of vintage and antique items, including hats, purses, books, postcards, toys, housewares, jewelry, architectural salvage, and home decor. To this rich collage, Susan add her own jewelry, fashioned from vintage buttons, pocket knives, and other bits and bobs she has picked up along the way.

Here is a small sampling of items you will find when you visit Susan at CalloohCallay.
